395: to & from
Honoring the great access 395 provides to amazing places with spectacular beauty on the eastern side of the Sierras, from Carson City to Tioga Pass/Yosemite and the Whitney Portal. When you get to the portal turnoff, you can go right to the highest place in the contiguous USA, OR turn left and go 100 miles to the lowest place in the Western hemisphere. Stop by the White mountains and touch a tree that's been alive for 4000 years. That's not a typo of zeros in the years, trees alive before the Egyptian pyramids! This is only the beginning of the natural splendor reached by Highway 395.
